CURIOSITY
Every solution begins with asking the right question.
FIRST ROBOTICS COMPETITION · CYPRUS
THE FIRST LOCAL ROBOTICS TEAM IN NORTHERN CYPRUS
We are Cyprus Robotics, Team 9174. Driven by curiosity, engineering, and teamwork, we bring Cyprus's young ideas to the competition field.
Founded in 2023, Team 9174 creates a space where young people learn science, technology, engineering, and mathematics by doing. We design and build together, moving forward with every competition.
Every solution begins with asking the right question.
We turn ideas into working systems.
We grow success together by sharing knowledge.
Chassis, electronics, mechanics, and code. Our competition robot is a living engineering project where every discipline works toward one goal.

Team 9174 brought its robot, teamwork, and engineering skills to the Marmara Regional in Istanbul, held from March 7–9, 2025.

During the Marmara Regional we met with Gary Burchard, who has contributed to the growth of FIRST in Türkiye. We discussed the idea of hosting an off-season competition in Northern Cyprus, the needs of teams on the island, and what we could build together.

Gökalp Genç experienced the international FRC community at the 2023 New York Tech Valley Regional, held in Albany, New York, from March 29 to April 1.
Gökalp Genç and Baturalp Genç also participate as members of Bora Robotics #8859 in Türkiye.
Bora Robotics FIRST record ↗Gökalp Genç and Baturalp Genç competed at the 2025 San Francisco Regional with Bora Robotics #8859, the team they take part in. Bringing together teams from many countries, the tournament was a chance to experience a full international competition week, from pit work to field strategy.

NASA's mobile machine shop supported teams throughout the tournament. When we ran into a part failure, the help we received there got our robot back on the field.
LEARNING BEYOND THE COMPETITION
The San Francisco journey extended beyond the field: meetings with university labs, campuses, and Turkish institutions helped our students see the engineering world from closer range.

A campus visit offered a closer look at its research culture and engineering ecosystem.

Assistant Dean Yusuf Öztürk guided our students through the laboratory and shared information about its work.

The visit with the Bora Robotics team became one of the important meetings of our international journey.
Different strengths, one goal: to learn better and build better.

Team 9174 members take part in a real engineering cycle: understanding the problem, designing a solution, building a prototype, testing it, and bringing the result to the field together.
Hands-on work across robot design, mechanical assembly, electronic systems, and software development.
Experience with schedules, task ownership, testing, troubleshooting, and competition deadlines.
Practice explaining technical ideas clearly to teammates, mentors, and supporters.
A culture of taking responsibility, making decisions as a team, and working toward a shared goal.
This website is Team 9174's digital team reference, making each student's role and collaborative engineering experience visible.
We thank every supporter who helps power the journey of young engineers.
